Realm chat
Talk with other adventurers in the world chat panel or open Realm chat from the navigation menu for the full chat page. The embedded panel also has View Full Chat or Open chat.
Choose a conversation
Section titled “Choose a conversation”Realm reaches adventurers throughout the realm. The embedded panel calls this channel General.
Local follows where your character is:
- Local · ShireStone covers all public districts in ShireStone.
- Local · Dark Forest covers the public forest, including adventurers on other forest paths.
- Inside a home, guild hall, cave or other interior, Local is separate from the public area. It reaches adventurers in that same room or interior area.
Opening a room preview doesn’t move your character or change your Local conversation. Enter the room to join its chat. Check the Local label before sending.
If you change conversations with an unsent draft, the game keeps it for review. Use draft here brings it into the new conversation; check it before choosing Send message.
Sending and reading
Section titled “Sending and reading”Send with Enter, or use Shift+Enter for a new line. You can send up to 10 messages per minute, with 500 characters in each. Messages remain in the history for seven days.
Use **bold**, *italics* or backticks around a word for inline code. You can also write links as [label](https://example.com). Choose Emoji to insert an emoji, or type and paste your own. Images and HTML aren’t displayed in messages.
New messages arrive automatically while the game is active. If you’re reading older messages, Jump to latest takes you to the newest messages. Choose Load older messages to read more history. If messages couldn’t be loaded, choose Retry loading messages.
While you’re reading, Continue reading is available in Chat tools on the full chat page, or under Options on smaller screens. It also appears in the warning before the game pauses. Choose it to stay active while reading. After a pause, choose Resume to reconnect and catch up. Incoming messages don’t prevent a pause.
There are no direct messages or attachments. Messages may be removed by a moderator, and muted accounts can’t send messages.
